  • American National Standards Institute, Inc. (ANSI)
    The association that issues specifications on various topics developed by committee work and approved by a consensus of those concerned with the topic's scope.
     
  • Automatic Identification Manufacturers, Inc. (AIM International)
    This association of manufacturers and suppliers of automatic identification equipment and services promotes the interest of automatic identification.
     
  • GS1 US (formerly the Uniform Code Council - UCC)
    This association administers the UPC Symbol, shipping container standards, and EDI standards used in the retail community.
     
  • Complete GDSN Support for Retailer Requirements - A GS1 GDSN Inc. White Paper
    Retailers and suppliers are posed to synchronize virtually any trading partner attribute through the Global Data Synchronization Network.
     
  • GDSN BRG (Global Data Synchronization Network Business Requirements Group) - This group sets out the standards as they are are presented. Attributes, code lists, and the like will be changed, deleted, or added at the approval of this group. It does have several side teams that meet independently and would only need to be attended should a partner decide that issue is important to them. This group meets every Tuesday from 9 to 11 eastern on a conference call. They have an application for participation. Completion of this allows the members to vote on main issues. Only Work Teams can vote on the issues in the side teams.
